Big Green Gathering 1000th Shareholder
Congratulations to Lucy Johnson who just became our 1000th shareholder! We asked Lucy to tell us a little about her family and their Big Green Gathering experiences:
Tell us something about your family
We are a family of five and we live in Brighton.
What made you become a shareholder?
We all really love the BGG and we wanted to do something to help support the efforts of the Directors in saving this festival.
When did you first start coming to the Big Green Gathering?
In the Mid 1990's we were driving along the A303 on our way to Cornwall and we saw everyone else turning right into the festival- it looked so lovely we vowed to buy tickets the following year. We did and have been to every gathering since.
What do you like best about the BGG?
The ethos, no noisy generators, friendly people - it's a really safe festival for children and it lasts five days, enough time to relax before you start to pack up again!
Who's your favourite band at the BGG?
Seize the day.
Which area do you like best and why?
In the daytime we like the craft field, always something for everyone to do. We also like the healing field with it's lovely gardens and huge pyramid and at night everyone meets up at Wierdigans before going to the Canyon. We try not to miss the fire labyrinth, a beautiful event too short but wonderful.
Has the BGG made you think about your lifestyle?
Yes it has, I was prompted to set up a compost bin following a visit to an early gathering and now compost as much of our waste as possible. As a family we have significantly reduced the amount of waste we send to landfill.
Is there anything that you don't like about the BGG?
Leaving!
Would you recommend the BGG for your Annual holiday?
Definitely yes.
