Swap your BGG 2009 BGG tickets for Green Phoenix!

Dear Big Green Gathering ticket holder,

Please click here to swap but please read the following first.

First of all, our apologies for the length of time it has taken to get back in touch and thanks for bearing with us through this difficult time.
As you may be aware the Big Green Gathering has a different board of directors with a clear commitment to settle every debt, restore the good name of the company and eventually host another successful event.
This is going to take time, effort and vision, plus, most importantly, the goodwill of the traders, suppliers, workers and, of course, ticket holders, who have been so badly let down.  Even if you’re one of the many people who so kindly said they’d donate some or all of their ticket money to the cause, it’s just not fair that you’ve suffered a loss.
We regret we are unable to put on an event during 2010, however, we hope to be able to repay as many as possible through ticket swaps with other events.
We have now had several generous offers of support and help from the organisers of other festivals and we’d now like to tell you about the first and, so far, most exciting of these.
It involves a new event, due to take place in the North of England between 19th-22nd August 2010.  It is called The Green Phoenix Festival. The event is not being organised by us... but we know it’s going to be fantastic.  Many of the team who are putting it on have worked with the Big Green Gathering in years gone by. They share our ethos and our determination to run an event powered by wind & sun.  This celebration of Arts & Sustainable culture will have many of the features you have come to know and love from Big Green Gatherings past. A strong healing field, a vibrant Earth Energies area with the very best esoteric speakers, a buzzing, deeply creative craft field, a committed permaculture presence and a Transition Village for discussion, debating and workshops that will showcase positive solutions to the challenges we face in these pressing times. Within the event will be a “little peoples' festival” packed with child friendly activities plus, of course, a selection of wonderful bars and music venues filled with the best bands and performers on the alternative scene. There will be theatre, dance, cabaret & circus and an array of chai stalls, cafes, markets and ethical fast food outlets as good as any you’d find on the planet.

The farm that Green Phoenix will be held on is gorgeous and glorious. Plus, (never to be underestimated) it has good drainage should the weather prove less than helpful.

The normal admission fee for this four day event will be £99 for tickets bought in advance, young people (12-17 years old) £45 and accompanied kids under 12 go free.

But they have kindly offered to welcome up to 1,000 Big Green Gathering ticket holders admission for FREE! To claim your free admission, you won’t even have to surrender your ticket from last year. You can STILL use it to get a substantial discount on OTHER events this year and next. All we ask is that, if you take up this offer, you formally accept that the bulk of what you're owed by the Big Green Gathering for your ticket last year is now 'squared'.

We recognise that the Big Green Gathering has been held in the South West ever since it began. We understand that Green Phoenix is a lot further North than that.
We understand that if you decide to take up this offer (as we hope you will) there will be financial and environmental issues to take into account.

It’s very near Newcastle upon Tyne. That’s a legendary city, surrounded by rolling hills and beautiful fields... only three hours by train from central London and a long afternoon's drive from Glastonbury. If you’re up for coming, you’ll not only love every moment of it... you’ll be helping to bring the unique magic of the Big Green Gathering spirit to a part of the world that has never known an event of this kind before! We intend to do our bit to help you get there (and back) as cheaply and responsibly as possible by investigating low cost direct coaches and special train fares (plus shuttle buses from the station). But first, we need to know how many of our ticket holders are up for coming.

Tempted? Then please allow us to throw this into the mix.

If you’ve got a friend you’d like to bring along, Green Phoenix have also agreed to allow one £10 discount per ticket-holder on the cost of an additional ticket.

We hope to have more news and offers for you soon but we doubt that any will be quite as generous and inviting as this one. So... what do you think?
